Yahoo Brower Color Default

After downloading all of the recommended updates to
WindowsXP, when I load SBC Yahoo, the screen colors change
to 8 bit and I get a message that the browser needs 16
colors. Then I have to go to the control panel to change
it. It was fine before I downloaded. Help
