I have a new computer running ie 6. I keep getting a Yahoo bar at the top. I
can right click on the bar and close it out, but it keeps coming back. How
do I get rid of it permanently? TIA

You can delete it from your Add/Remove list. (Start, Settings, Control
Panel, Add/Remove.)

That is correct, Vicki - also, one must be careful during the install process
of third-party applications that offer Yahoo in it's many incarnations, not to
accept the opt-in install of Yahoo. This is totally, user-choice.

Hi Silj,

But a strange thing happened to me a few days ago. Because I couldn't open
a link on a site that I needed and my husband could on his computer, I
finally traced the problem. Something was wrong with my Adobe Reader. It
wouldn't upgrade, so I needed to uninstall it completely and reinstall it.
Upon reinstall, it had the option of loading the Yahoo toolbar. I removed
the checks because I didn't want it, but Adobe simply wouldn't load until I
agreed to accept the Yahoo toolbar. Very upsetting. Ugh! Adobe has never
made me do that in the past. But at least I was finally able to open the
link. LOL

Thank you, Frank. I have saved your email/link on my HD, as it looks very
interesting and worth downloading. Forgot to mention that it also
downloaded a small photo editing program, which I didn't want, as I already
have what I need and like for managing my digitals.
