Hello,

I have pretty long descriptions to label my y-axis and need a specifi
font size. Now I have the problem that excel determines the width o
the y-axis-description area and that my labels have line breaks (se
image). How can I avoid that?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Unfortunately there's really no way to get longer labels there without
using textboxes. The technique isn't hard, it just gets tedious.

First hide the regular axis tick labels. Double click the axis, and on
the Patterns tab, choose None for Tick Labels.

To add a textbox, select the chart, press the equals key (=), select the
cell that holds the label, and press Enter. Format and position the
label, and repeat as needed.
