I believe x-teq setup has a function that allows you to
sort the favorites completely.

Download it, then after installing it and updating it, go
to the following plug-in:
Internet>Internet Explorer>Troubleshooting>Sort Favorites
Menu

Simply press the button and it's done!

You don't need a third party program to do what IE can do itself.
Open Favorites from the menu item, not the toolbar icon. Then right click
any of them and choose Sort by Name.

If you want them to automatically alpha-sort even as new entries are added,
you need a registry edit. Navigate to:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Menu
Order\Favorites

and delete the value named 'Order'. Also delete this value for any
subfolders. Then, with the favorite key highlited, click on Edit >
Permissions and deny 'Full Access' to Administrators, yourself, etc. This
will prevent the key from being automatically recreated.
