What are you trying to open these file with? You should be able to open
xps files by renaming the .xps extension to .zip
xps files by renaming the .xps extension to .zip

This does not in my case.
I think it has nothing to do with ZIP.

Nope. That's only with Vista. In XP you need to install the XPS Document
Writer.
