Using an Ampro ETX800 SBC, which has an Inter(R) 82852/82555 GM/GME Graphics
Controller, I am having difficulties getting the Display Adapter Device
Driver installed.
I am attempting to install the device driver from win2k_xp141950.zip (from
Intel - http://www.intel.com/design/intarch/software/driver/index.htm) after
the FBA has run.
Just after FBA, the Device Manager shows (under [?]Other devices) [?]Video
Controller (VGA Compatible).
Driver Details of this device show the "Device Instance Id" to be:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_02\3&267A616A&0&10
Now execute Setup.exe (from win2k_xp141950):
Welcome screen ...Next>
License Agreement...Yes
Then "Error - An unknown error has occurred. Setup will exit."
Click Ok and setup closes.
Open Device Manager again and the "[?]Video Controller" is no longer listed,
and there is no "Display Adapter" section on the Device Manager list.
This looks like there is a component missing from the XPE build, or some XPE
configuration mistake. It is difficult to isolate this problem, partly
because the video device driver gives a non-discriptive error message.
This hardware boots and uses a video device driver (correctly) "Intel(R)
82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller" ver 6.14.10.3943, that has been
previously installed on a non-embedded WinXP HDD. I am unable to trace the
install details of this video device.
Can anyone help to explain this?
thanks
