Hi

I've got a problem building an El Torito CD using the EWF
on RAM. I followed the steps as discribed in <Windows XP
Embedded Step by Step> (James Beau Cseri) and everything
seemd to work well. Only when booting the final image from
CD there's the error <STOP: 0x0000007B> coming up after
the Windows XP embedded logo. I've also checked at MS
homepage but I found nothing wrong. Any ideas?

This error is displayed when a critical boot device is missing from your
configuration. Verify that all required components for the target are
included in the configuration. Also verify that Etprep properly deletes the
EWF volume and properly swaps the boot drive letter with the El Torito
CD-ROM drive letter. For more information on running Etprep.exe see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d.../en-us/xpehelp/html/xetskrunningetprepexe.asp

Is this a USB 2.0 hub the CD drive is on? If so this will not work. Stop 7B
is inaccessible boot device..

Anil,
Is this a USB 2.0 hub the CD drive is on? If so this will not work.
Why does it matter if it is USB 2.0 hub? It can operate in USB1.x mode,
right?
Where can we find more info on this subject?

Is there article that says how to boot from USB device.
I know that I had to do some registry changes to USB drivers to make XPE
pass 7B error. But this is far from complete solution.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Slobodan,
Booting XPe from USB is not supported. So there is no information
available.

I know, but I just wanted to be sure, since you mentioned USB 2.0, not all
USB.

So conclusive answer would be that no device can be booted from any USB
device. (Not with only TD settings at least. )

Thanks for clearing this up.
Slobodan
