Hello to all, I have the problem that my XP embedded image needs about 15
minutes to logon on to a 2003 Domaincontroller.
What maybe the reaseon for that?

Martin,

What SP your XPe image is based on? In RTM/SP1 times there was a big in some MUI images where domain logon could take several
minutes. I recall there was a QFE issued for SP1 and the fix was rolled up in to SP2.

Hi,
my System is XPembedded with Servicepack2.
My MUI is German.

Hmm.. Then you'd probably want to either report the problem to MS or give it some debugging.
E.g., you can take a look at the event log on your target. If there was a domain logon problem, it usually reports some warnings or
errors there.
Also, you can use MS tool BootVis (search Google to find its download) to analyze your device boot.

I assume this is not an issue with your DC and you cannot repro it with XP Pro/German installation on a client, right?

In the event log i see no problem with the domain logon.
My DC works with XP Pro/German and XP Pro/ Multilanguage installation
correctly.
The MS tool BootVis cannot help, because it works not correctly with my
image.
I think that the Systemservices starts in a incorect order, but i don`t know
where i can change this.
Today i installed all updates of XPembedded SP2 and upgraded the image to
Futurepack2007.
When i look in the taskmanager until the systemboot i see that a handfull
services starts and then the system is froozen. After 10 Minutes the
bootsequence continues.
Do you know where i can find some better information about the components
that i need for domain participation?

I had the same issue and when you apply the mui's you must apply service
pack 1 first, then the patch for the domain issue and then service pack 2.
I use German, French, and Swedish and they all had the same issue.

Martin,

The component is Net Join. Basically if you start with Domain Participation macro you should be good to go in to domain environment.

Not sure why you said BootVis doesn't work correctly with your image. I'd rather try to fix this since the tool maybe helpful for
the issue investigation.
Another idea is to use Kernel Debugger connected remotely to your target PC. Then when you have the system lock (boot hangs) you can
break the execution and jump in the debugger to see what threads and components are running. That may give you an idea where to
start digging into your image.

I know you are probably with the latest (FP2007) now but just in case please make sure your binaries in the image are the same or
more recent than the ones mentioned in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=835261

Also, make sure you got the same or more recent binaries than this QFE:
http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/...EC-6F06-46F0-9798-8538FD5BCE84&displaylang=en
You may have to change the order in which you installed the SPs and QFEs as Debbie outline. But I can't comment on this as I never
had the problem here.

After the Update with the QFE, my System starts in less than 50 seconds.
Thanks for your assistance.
