With the above 64bit CPU & system, I can't run a game
like "Need for Speed Underground" for more than 5 minutes
without it crashing. What could be the problem ?

Have you got the latest patches for the game?
The latest chipset drivers for your motherboard (www.viaarena.com - I think
you might want to check)
The latest drivers for your graphics card the 4.7 drivers were released
yesterday (www.ati.com)

Do you experience crashing with any other heavy games?

What kind of crash is it, to desktop or does the whole system grind to a
halt?

You'll also want to check power and cooling. Make sure there's no card in
the PCI slot next to the display card. What's your power supply rated for?
What brand is it?

The board is fairly new so it might pay to look for a BIOS update for your
motherboard after you've exhausted your other research options. Be careful
with the upgrade. Getting the wrong BIOS will damage your motherboard.
