I most recently installed the Window Program XP, I had
Window ME before the installation of xp, I used windows
me for a few years and knew what to do on the windows ME,
but I am having a problem with XP program, when I run a
scan I keep getting a message telling me to close or
shutdown any programs that are running, which I do not
know what to do to stop these programs.

In the Window Task Manager screen it states that No
Axtive Network Adapter Found?

THANKS A MILLION

hey man, what are you scanning with??? virus-scanner?? scandisk?? defrag?? other???

Plus in the windows task manager screen how it states "No Active Network Adapter Found" means you have no network card installed.. its nothing to worry about unless u have a network card and it isnt installed properly..

, when I run aThere is probably nothing for you to do. Usually, not
always, that means to shut down any applications you
might have going, such as word processors, games, and
so on. If you aren't running them, then you are likely
all set.
That would imply that the computer is expectig to find
a network card, but it cannot "see" it for whatever
reason - eg it's not working right, drivers are missing
or corrupt, or it's plain old not installed. I suppose
that might happen if you told the machine it was a
server somewhere in the settings? Or you're trying to
set up a LAN? Just guessing there.
Actually, more data is needed to give you good
answers: what application is doing the scan, are you
trying to set up, or are you on, a LAN, etc..
