Can I install Works 9 while Works 4.5 is still installed ?
If not, how do I move my spreadsheets from Works 4.5 to Works 9 ?
 
Hi LouG,

Yes, on a different partition on the same computer, using a Dual-Boot
Scenario.

There are differences between the versions of Works. However, Works 9
will handle or open previously files created by older versions of Works.

But the only way to keep Works 4.5 is to create a Dual-Boot Scenario,
using two Hard Drives or by partitioning the current Hard Drive into two or
more partitions.

Another way there is, is to work with Drive / Partition Images created
by programs such as Acronis True Image 11 Home, or BootItNG or even Ghost.

But I would still recommend with using Partition Images, is to move the
Documents folder off the Operating system's partition, so you still have the
Documents Folder available regardless of the version of Works being used.

I have not installed version 8, but I have installed version 8 with version 4.5 still there.
I just made sure that the two versions installed in different folders.
However, the newer version now acts as the default program and you have to manually start the older
version by selecting the executables yourself.
Or
Simply save all of your Works 4.5 documents to another folder for safety and install Works 9.
Works 9 will read your Works 4.5 spread sheets just fine.
By the way, Works 4.5 default saves documents to a folder called Documents within the Works 4.5
folders.
I have not installed version 9, but version 8 saves documents to the MY DOCUMENTS folder.
Moving your version 4.5 document files to your My Documents folder should make them automatically
seen.
