I don't like this XP sam i am,i don't like green eggs and
ham!So how do i switch back to windows 98,I have a Pen3
500mhtz,with 64mb ram-It doesn't want to run the 98
disc.My 98 was SO MUCH faster than this XP.I don't see
what the hype is about.Seems like so many problems here!
Not that much in the 98 group,oh ya MS stop support wants
us to upcash cough,cough-upgradeto XP.Yep that's what
happens when you get all the bugs out,get people to
switch to a newer virsion thats plaqued with
problems,it's great for the bottom line.I've had it
locking up,choppy video, disc utility that locks up when i
run it,low mem warnings all the time, all i want is my 98
back TONITE!

Your RAM (64 MB) is not adequate to run Windows XP.
Install at least 256 MB RAM and Windows XP will perform
better than Windows 98. 512 MB RAM is even better!

As far as XP Sam I am, it will not run (well) on 64 of RAM. 256 is better,
still 512 won't make you ill.

Seriously though your system is seriously underpowered to run Windows XP.
It's a great OS. You just need the equipment to run it on.

Here's a good step by step on reinstalling 98.

Although 98 was nearly all you need, not to have to keep forking up some serious cash every year or two on upgrades, anyone on earth will tell you it was unstable AS HELL!!! That, and it did not offer Restore or Automatic Updates. Your Ram is pathetic. RAM is cheap nowadays UNLESS you're buying Rambus, but why bother!...go out and spend a couple of bucks on RAM, if you can shell out a few hundred for XP then this certainly makes sense. And if you STILL have problems, then that means you have too many junk programs running in the background
