I have a home netword with a desktop and laptop. When I try to share folders
on each I can access the desktops folders on the laptop, but the laptops
folders don't show up in "My network places" on the desktop and if I try to
map to a laptop directory I am prompted for a userid and password. I don't
know what setting I need to change on the laptop to allow direct access
without an ID and P/W.

Any ideas? I've checked settings and cannot find out anything obvious...

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the laptop to fully enable file
sharing. That's all that should be needed.

If you've explicitly defined a password for the Guest account on the
laptop, enter that password at the prompt.

If you've explicitly disabled "simple file sharing" on the laptop, see
