This could be a hardware or software issue. Unfortunately, you didn't
provide enough information in your post for anyone to guess the right
answer. If you can't get it in to make any changes, then you won't be
able to work on software issues without at least a Repair Install
anyway. So, 1) are there any error messages at all? 2) What changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't? 3) Open the
box and start it, observing all fans in the case, on the processor, on
the video card to see if everything is running. 4) Try to boot into
Last Known Good Configuration by repeatedly tapping F8 when the
computer starts. 5) If you can't do #4, then you might want to run a
RAM test with Memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) and a hard drive test to
rule out some hardware issues. 6) If the hardware seems OK, then try a
Repair Install. Here's a link to instructions for that:

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

If all this seems daunting, then take the box to a good local computer
repair shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and have them
check it out for you.

Good luck,

Malke
