XP wont remember password

I have just upgraded from Win ME with an XP Professional
upgrade pack and now find that XP will not remember my
ISP login password. I can enter the right password at
dial up time and all is OK , but even though I have
ticked the remember password box, on the next dialup I
find an incorrect password. No matter how many dialup
accounts I create (and delete), XP only wants to insert
this one wrong password for all.

Win ME was having no trouble with this. I have tried re
installing XP but have had no success.

Help please!!

XP will always show the same number of stars to mask the true password
length.
The stored password is still correct in behind the scenes.

Have you tried just connecting to see if it works?
