XP won't recongize my network card

Hello,

I upgraded from Win ME to XP Pro and I can't get it to recongize my Netgear FA311 network card installed in my computer. It is working properly as the required lights are on and blinking. I have checked with Netgear's site and they said that it is compatible with XP even thought Microsoft says otherwise. I have tried over and over to get it recongized by the New Hardware Wizard but that hasn't work. Even when I can load a driver for it, XP says a Warning, and when I continue installation, the device won't start. I need a little help with how I can solve this problem. Thanks!
 
Probably the easiest thing to do is get a new network card that is known to
be XP compatible. You can get one for about $15.00.

But XP said there was a driver for this card. How can I use it? Where is it located within Windows?
 
You may have to do a physical removal of any driver for the card and also of
the NIC card itself. Reboot to see if anything is showing in the DEVICE
MANAGER. If all is well, try installing the driver before physically
installing the card. XP should take the driver and then you shut down and
install the card and reboot. XP should then install the card and driver.
