Hello

Well purcahse your self a new scanner what will support
your OS, you have few options, or try using a win2k driver
and if that fails replace your scanner or you can always go
back to your previous OS

It's spelt SCSI and did you actually visit HP's site and *look* before
posting?! If so, you would have found http://tinyurl.com/lmd0.

At a guess, the scanner uses an ISA SCSI card.

I believe that XP may not auto-detect ISA cards, even if they are
Plug-and-Play ISA. (Your SCSI card may be a "legacy" ISA type, with
jumper-selectable settings.)

You can probably manually install drivers for the SCSI card. Enter the Add
Hardware Wizard, and search for new hardware. (It won't find anything.)
Click "yes" when asked whether the new hardware has been connected. On the
next window, titled "the following hardware is already installed on your
computer", scroll to the bottom of the list, and select "add a new hardware
device". On the next window, titled "the wizard can help you install other
hardware", check "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list
(Advanced)". On the next window, select "SCSI and RAID controllers". I was
able to use the Adaptec AHA-151x/(etc.) drivers on my old "Zip Zoom" adapter
(Adaptec AVA-1502E). Better drivers may exist for your SCSI adaptor, if you
can discover what it is.

Once the SCSI adapter is running, I hope that the rest of the process runs
smoothly for you. (I see that there's some sort of driver download at the HP
site for you machine - it's about 4 MB in size.)

At some point, you may find it to your advantage to replace the scanner with
a USB model.

Good luck.
