XP wont load

Hi I have just bought a new box with a giga-byte GA-K8NF-9 M/B, Nvidia g
force 6200 video card, AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU, 1024 meg ram and 200gb
Seagate SATA H/Drive model ST3200822as. M/B would not recognise drive. After
enquiring with Giga-byte have upgraded BIOS and now there is something there,
however XP (2002 disc without SP2)only recognises 137 gb which I understand,
however when trying to load XP it goes through the hoops and then loops back
and restarts the computer. I am new at this - Can anyone tell me what I am
doing wrong pls.

for openers...you did this yourself....take that box and the XP disc to
someone who knows what they are doing......
