xp wireless networking

Simply does not work
A laptop connected to the internet and 4 other computers on wireless peer to peer cannot see each other
All wireless adaptors report as connected to the network , they all have the same correct workgroup name
Internet sharing computer uses XP home , the other ones use ME, & Windows 2000 (worst op sys ever)

Is microsoft USELESS or what ? This was the operating system meant to make life easy , but networking is UTTER HELL , nothing ever goes right , what kind of useless engineers work for Microsoft ?????? dont they ever try the rubbish they make

XP home now has a new hell , inbuild firewall service (god save us) , the more secure they try to make their useless systems the more arcane and useless they become .

I'm sorry that you are having so much problems. Microsoft has some pretty
good engineers. Without them, we wouldn't have the operating systems we have
now. The Windows XP firewall is, in my opinion, a basic firewall and it
doesn't have the the same configurations like third party firewalls have. If
you want to control outbound traffic, a third party does everything XP's
firewall can do and more. XP's firewall only protects inbound traffic and is
only intended for direct connections to the Internet.

You will always run into pitfalls in Windows networking. If you are having
problems seeing other computers, it could be many possible causes. Make sure
the XP's firewall is disabled on local area networks. If you installed a
third party firewall, make sure it isn't blocking access between the
computers. Ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
