xp windows

I can't get a full screen anymore, my monitor has 1" boarders on either side
of the windows. How do i get rid of these boarders?

"Repel boarders!" I think you need cutlasses and muskets for that.

Evict them?

More seriously, the size of the borders is a hardware issue, not a
Windows one. Try the controls on your monitor.

It sounds like the video settings on either your monitor or your video card
have changed. If this happened suddenly, one or the other of htem is
probably ready to fail on you.
You could look for the size adjustments and see if they can be adjusted,
for both the monitor and your video card. But it this happened on its own
and no one was fiddling with the computer on you, you probably have a
pending failure.
If you can get access to one, try a different monitor to see whether it's
the monitor or the video card. A different monitor of course will require
setting it up with the controls so you'll have to find where those are, too.
Otherwise it's probably off to the shop with it.
