I have a home LAN with an XP Home and a W2K computer, a Linksys router and a cable modem.
Both computers have their TCP/IP settings alike, including specific DNS servers.
The W2K computer can access any Internet host using its domain name.
The XP can access an Internet host ONLYif I specify the IP address.
Is there some XP configuration that blocks DNS calls?
Or what could the problem (and the solution) be??
The LAN is fine -- each PC can see the other's drives and printers, and they both can
see the router and the modem.
Thanks,
Pete
