I have a 40GB hard drive, partitioned into 4.
2-5GB for dual boot OS XPpro & 98se
2-15GB for data

XP keeps popping up a mini hard drive in task bar stating
I need to remove programs. If I click on my drive in My
Computer it states that I have used 4.87GB and have 519MB
free. However when I use explore(right click on start)
and add up ALL of the folders listed in my drive I get
3.27GB used. This includes the Windows folder, Program
Files, Misc folders.

Where is my other 1GB at???? Why is XP showing it is
used up.

Help

Are you including system and hidden files? Are you including the swap file?
Are you including the System Information folder?

Help

Are you counting all the hidden and system files.

Also are you taking into account the slack space that occurs on a
drive due to cluster size.
