Dave

I have a Dell Latitude C610.

When I boot with a thumbdrive, (have tried 2 different with same results) I
can explore the files on the drive. If I remove the thumbdrive and
reinstall it under power I can no longer see the drive. I do hear the
sounds when the USB is connected.

If I open Disk Management, I can see the drive and when I right click and
select Open, I can then view the files, but not through Explorer.

Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so is there a fix?

Thanks

For USB thumbdrive (aka flash key drives), you should always use "Safely
Remove Hardware" icon. You may now encounter the sounds of the USB
connecting and just right after it, USB disconnecting.

You need to head into Device Manager and "uninstall" the entries for this
device and unknowm USB device.

If there is a jpeg on the drive, my adobe software opens and lists the
pictures.

Is there something in regedit to fix this?

Thanks
