xp upgrade to full xp install

Hello
Posting again with my email.
Is there any way to go from xp upgrade to a full install.
Have not had great luck with the upgrade from win 2k.
Everyone says purchase a full license.
Don't want to eat the $180 I paid for the upgrade
license.

Win2000 can only be upgraded to XP Pro. An installation of XP Home requires
removal of Win2000.

The upgrade version of XP Pro is capable of performing an upgrade or a
clean install. If you opt for the clean install method, setup will stop at
one point and ask to see the CD of the qualifying operating system. Once it
has checked the CD, the installation of XP Pro will continue.

NOTE: OEM recovery disks that do not contain the standard Windows setup
files will not work.
