I upgraded to XP Professional last year from W98. After
doing so, I lost the inability to burn CDs. When I put a
music CD in the F drive (where the burner is located) I
can play music, see the files in Windows Explorer, etc.
But when I put a blank CD in there, the drive
is "inaccessible." I cannot burn using Windows Media
Player or by copying the file onto the disk or anything.
What gives?

btw...I should add that Windows Media player says that 'no
device [is] detected.' Why does it not acknowledge my
burner? Thanks
