Hi everyone, Before I put my boot through my system I
thought I would try to get some other ideas first.

My problem:-

I have a WK2 Server running active directory in domain
mode. This system has the modem in it.
I have a XP system that connects to the domain as a client,
I am trying to get the XP system to use the Dialup modem
in the server to get onto the internet. I can not get it
to work. Both systems are connected to each other via a
crossover cable. IP address of server 192.168.0.1/24, XP
192.168.0.2/24

Any ideas grately recieved
Regards
Ian

You can have your W2k Server connected to the Internet and enable ICS
(Internet connection firewall) on it (Network folder-> Dial-up connectiod->
right click-> properties->Advance)

Once your W2k is on internet, you can use the internet from XP via the cross
over cable.

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried this, I enabled ICS on the modem which in
turn sets the IP address on the Server NIC to
192.168.0.1/24. I enabled Auto IP on the XP systems NIC
and then connected to the internet on the Server, once
connected I logged on as the administrator on the XP
system and opened IE and I couldn't look at any web sites
or collect email on the XP system. I have no firewalls
enabled as I am trying all this. I must be doing something
wrong.

Any other ideas?

I am not sure about the modem. But you need to enable ICS on the connectoid
which you invoke for connecting to the Internet.
