Steve

Ever since I downloaded and installed the update, I can't
open up an IE browser window and surf the Web.

Sometimes it does nothing
Sometimes the hard drive runs for a couple of seconds &
then does nothing
Sometimes a browser window flickers open and then closes
One time a browser window opened and a dialog box appeared
saying that IE had to shut down.

Any ideas? Should I uninstall service pack 2?

SP2 is new and full of bugs yet. If you can uninstall it I'd say do it and
wait for all the needed fixes. You might want to try using the Firefox
browser at www.mozilla.org It's the closest thing to IE without the bugs
and not tied into windows. There's lots of plug-ins available so you can
customize it to your liking so check those out too.

If anyone has a similar problem, I just fixed it with the
help of one of SP2 online chat support people. Big props
to them!

Basically, it came down to either a conflict with Norton
Anti-Virus or JavaScript (or both).

It worked after I ran Norton LiveUpdate twice in a row &
used Control Panel>Intenet Options>programs>Manage Add-
ons>Disable JavaScript Console (jsconsole.dll)

Hope this helps you!

Thanks! It helps for me too (only the java console part,
and I had the Sun-java thing installed, not jsconsold).

Oops, update to that: It helps, but not altogether.
I still get this error sometimes.
NAV seems to have nothing to do with it, anyway (I've completely updated
NAV2002 with LiveUpdate).
