Called in tonite, received a case # was transferred and advised of atleast a
45 minute wait for service on my dime, this really sucks!

i keep getting "page not available" at all of the options for support! is it because xp is blacklisted?

Hi sir,
I have winxp professional. I just bought the computer, and installed all the recommended updates downloaded from microsoft website. But, still sometimes, I am in the middle of something, like listening to music on real player and chatting with one of my friends OR I am watching some movie on my computer using "Cyberlink Power DVD" application, the computer automatically restarts. I am wondering if you are kind enough to give me a clue what is going on over here, and what is the remedy for the problem

Thanks,

Shahid

Shahid,

Check airflow / ventilation. Are all the fans running? Are all the
filters clean? Look inside the case - is there a clear unrestricted
airflow around the cpu?

Check the Event Log (Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Event
Viewer). Any error messages just before the restart?

Check for viruses:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Check for spyware. Use HijackThis, Spybot S&D, and expert advice at
SWI Forums (all free). Complete instructions are available at:
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=5187

Do you have a firewall or NAT router? If not, please get one, for
everybody's benefit. I doubt that Blaster will be the last worm that
will attack thru a Windoze design deficiency.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
