Again today, while working on small spreadsheet in Excel, screen suddenly
went black. I had to reboot and lost data I hadn't saved. No error message -
just instant black screen. This happens too often. Anyone know why or how to
fix?

Go to Start/Run and type: eventvwr.msc and press OK. In the event
Viewer, click on Applications in the left side menu and look for any "X"
error messages that correspond to the last time this behavior happened.
Double click the entry to see the details of the error. This may give you a
clue as to program/hardware is causing the problem. You can click the small
icon on the right side of this details window that looks like 2 text pages
to copy the error to the clipboard and paste it back here in a reply.

Another thing to look at is Start/Run, type: msinfo32 and press OK.
Expand the Components item and click on the Problem Devices. If there is an
entry for a hardware device there, it could be where the problem is coming
from.

Ronnie: I checked out more of the Xs in the viewer. Faulting application:
pageplus.exe; faulting module mfc42.dll; app: pspa.exe, module gdi 32.dll;
app:pdexplo.exe, module kvssvwr.dll. I will contact Serif Page Plus Tech
Support. What should I tell them?

One more quick follow up.<pspa.exe> is a Jasc program; <pdexplo.exe> is
Power Desk; <photopls.exe> is a Serif program which I have uninstalled.
Thank you.
