Do you mean uninstall using control panel? It's not
there to uninstall. There is a startup item called "sys"
found on the Startup tab of System Configuration Utility
accessed by start/run/msconfig. If I disable it and do a
selective startup, my internet explorer homepage is set
where I want it. If I do a normal startup with the tab
enabled, my internet explorer homepage is set to a
different address. I would like to remove the "sys"
item. Any ideas?

Uninstall it.

Type msinfo32 in start run and look on it's startup tab for the path to the file. Check the file properties and try to identify the malware you installed.

Hi Dave,
Most probably this is some sort of spyware which has hijacked your IE
homepage. This entry can be specified in one of the many locations in the
registry. If you want to delete its startup entry from the registry, in the
startup tab if the MSCONFIG, look under the "Location" tab. The location
would be specified. Open up the registry editor (regedit.exe) and navigate
to the key and delete it. You may also download Adaware
(www.lavasoftusa.com) and scan from any spyware on your system.
