XP Startup has repeats and dead files in "msconfig"

I need to get redundant lines (identical) and startup
strings for non-existent programs out of my XP systems,
both Home and Pro.

I go throught the correct routine: "Run", "msconfig",
Startup (whereupon I simply remove the "deadwood", bit am
then of course the source of XP rage...

I would truly like to get these lines out from under so
my machines can boot in "standard" fashion.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Patric M

RegSupreme is a good place to start. It's one of the very few 'safe'
Registry cleaners & I wouldn't be without it. I accumulate a minimum of 50
broken ("xxxx does not exist") links per day alone (which are removed &
backed up when fixed).

Uncheck the entries and apply this fix:

You need to find where this entries are.

Generally, some are housed in the registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/ --> then it can
be any of the Run keys such as Run, RunOnce, RunEx

Same for the following registry keys as well
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/

If you are unsure about the registry, read up on it so you are sure or else
you could do more harm than good.
