When i load up windows xp, my system information dialog
box comes up, because it is in my start up. I know that
when using 98 you can enter your system information and
disable start up programs, but how do you do this on xp?

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down
to Item No. 260. In the right column, click on "System32 Folder Opens
Upon Boot". Download this repair file and then run the repair.

Is there another way to do this, other than downloading?
There is something telling that file to come up on the
start up, and the logical way to stop this would be to
delete the thing telling it to come up. I just need to
know where to find the proper start up folder, that lists
all of the programs that are prompted at start up, and
have the ability to delete them.

*Note - the file is dxdllreg.exe

Kelly's repair script fixes the registry problem.

Go to Start > Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Look under the Startup tab for startup items you wish to
disable.
