When I boot XP, I get something like these options:
-"Boot XP" or
-"Boot recovery console"
You have 25 seconds...

This happens EVERY time. Once booted, the machine works great. How can I get
rid of this boot option/delay?
Thank you.

You need to edit the boot.ini file. The simplest and safest way is to go to START > Run, type in msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration utility will open and one of the tabs is BOOT,INI. In a box roughly halfway down the dialog you can set the timeout. The default is 30 secs. I would suggest changing it to 5 seconds as that gives you time to select the non-default option of Recovery Console (if you are quicker on the draw than me then you can drop that down to a comfortable time but don't make it too fast to change otherwise there is no point having the Recovery Console on the boot menu.) Don't change it to 0 as that stops the countdown altogether.

Right click over my computer, properties, snoop around the tabs, look for an
option called startup, see if you can figure it out.

I gave up and just removed the whole console. MS tells you how to do that.
