I recently upgraded from 98 to xp. My problem is trying to
advance through the program list from the start button. I
have alot of programs installed and can only access the
first half showing on the screen.

.
first you can change screen resolution to make all
programes appear or change the screen size (17")

You need to set the properties of your Start Menu to NOT
ALLOW SCROLLING in your Programs Menu. Right-Click in
the taskbar (an empty spot), choose PROPERTIES, then
START MENU tab. Then click CUSTOMIZE. Scroll down and DE-
SELECT the checkbox for Scroll Programs Menu. While
you're there, DE-SELECT Use Personalized Menus as well...
another annoying feature Microsoft thinks we can't live
without.... YEAH-RIGHT!!

Good Luck!

I'd suggest that you right-click the start button, choose explore,
then create some folders in documents and settings\ \start menu
programs. Say, if you have a number of video players, create a folder
called Videos, then drag and drop your shortcuts inside.

Barring that, right-click your start menu\ programs list to sort by
name, then access them alphabetically by typing the first letter to
bring you to programs in that section of the alphabet.
