This is kinda weird and stupid, but for some reason The
picture next to my account name isnt there in the start
menu. I have gone to control panel and gone to user
acounts and set my picture, but in the start menu it only
says my account name and it doesnt display the picture,
does anybody know why this is, its got me baffled. Thanks
for the help,

Eric,

Try this...

[Start]
| Run |
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
[Enter]

I have the same problem with the user's picture not being
displayed on the start menu. I have tried registering
the dll as indicated by a previous posting. Any other
ideas?
Cheer,
Steve

Hi Eric,

It's only there if you are using XP themes. And of course, if using classic
there is no picture.

Hi Kelly,

I'm having the same problem. As far as I can tell I am using the XP
Theme. I even tried switching to classic then back to XP Theme and
still NG. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Steve

Speaking of the Welcome Screen. How do you get rid of it. Just got XP and
since I am the only user, find the Welcome Screen annoying.

Thanks, George

Control Panel> User Accts> Change the way Users Log on & Log off> Uncheck Welcome Screen.

I have disabled the Welcome Screen and after your post have reenabled
it and see that my picture is back. I guess that was it. I had
disabled it before and don't recall it getting rid of the user
picture. Thanks for the help.
