XP SP2 Security Center

I keep un-checking the Firewall Security alert but the
system keeps re-checking it every time I re-start my
computer. I've un-checked my ISP in network connections.
Any suggestions on how to get this to quit happening?

I'm having the same issue and it is really irritating me. Did you happen
to find a solution somewhere?

Several others have reported this issue, only way to avoid this
resetting is to disable the Security Center service.

Someone in another newsgroup thread indicated that a Symantec service
was the cause for this behavior on his computer (I can't remember in
what newsgroup though).
 
Not yet. I tohught I'd figured it out by checking that
I'd monitor my own firewall solution(I don't have any
firewall activated) but every time I reboot here comes
the security alert. Near as I can tell on Microsoft sight
is that's the way it is going to be. Bet there's some way
to do a reedit or something that takes it out of the root.

Hi

Several others have reported this issue, only way to avoid this
resetting is to disable the Security Center service.

Start/Run --> services.msc

Find "Security Center" in the list, double click on it, set
"Startup type" to Disabled.


There is also a Group Policy setting available to disable the
Security Center (Start/Run--> gpedit.msc).

Take a look at the chapter for the Security Center in
