I don't see any reference to the "Delayed Write Failed" errors that many of
us XP Pro users experience while moving large files, or copying large
numbers of files. I guess they don't feel that it was a bug... oh sorry,
"issue" worth fixing.

XP Service Pack 2 is in testing right now and will be out soon it looks
like. It seems that Bil and Steve are going to fix alot of problems and add
some enhancement, my pet peeve: ICF not functioning during bootup and
shutdown.

Hi, no! Window XP Service Pack 2 will *begin* beta testing within the next
few weeks. It had not started yet. It is still expected to be released in
2004.

Oh goody... that's means we're going to get lots & lots of posts from idiots
who've installed leaked version's of the beta and screwed up their PC's...
Remember all the fun & games when SP1 was being beta'd? *shudder*

Please MS, this time stick a ruddy great big dialog in the middle of the
screen everytime a PC boots with an SP2 beta saying if you installed it and
are NOT on the beta program, any problems are your own stupid fault!! :)

haha, Lorne. Funny, I was kicking myself last night after posting that,
thinking "now Ive gone and done it! ineviateably some dummy will get ahold
of the beta and screw up his pc". Hey, they'll do it anyways.

Actually, from what I have read, PUBLIC beta testing is not available jusy
yet, while internal testing and development are under way. I do hope that
they also provide outgoing firewall protection this time.

Will my keygens still work?

Meanie.

Yes, you're keygens & cracks are safe.

From what I've heard, it goes something like this -

Microsoft is set to release a test version of the next update, which adds
security features as well as improved support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
networks.
The beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 2 is expected to be made
available to testers soon via Microsoft's developer Web site. The final
version is expected to be released in the first half of next year.

"SP2 beta is intended for software developers and IT professionals to
conduct early testing to allow Microsoft to collect valuable customer
feedback"

Among the security improvements are a beefed-up Windows Firewall, and
software designed to block pop-up ads and prevent the unintended downloading
and installation of software. The company also turned off the Windows
Messenger service, which had been abused by some hackers.

Microsoft also said it has taken a number of steps to reduce a type of
exploit known as a buffer overrun, but the company warned that it is
probably impossible to completely eliminate such vulnerabilities.

The new Windows XP will make it easier to turn on the automatic update
feature.

Well the "Delayed Write Failed" issue is all over the Web now days. Seeing more and more of it if you start searching around for it, you'll find it on a lot of Bulletin Boards. Here is just one example
