Now there's a title.
I've signed up for a series of MS classes on MS Learning, and am having a
great deal of trouble with the labs portion of the classes. When I connet to
the VM, I have about 2-5 minutes of life before the screen turns white, and a
minute or two later, crashes the session, causing XP to restart.
The BSOD message is a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message. As an attempt
to work the problem I've updated the BIOS, and as noted in the "Windows XP
Shut Down and Automatic Reboot Problems" page at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/russel_02may13.mspx, updated the ROXIO CD Creator drivers to the XP version.
These steps did not solve the problem described above. I've also run HiJak
on the machine and sent it to MS Help, but they said they couldn't see
anything wrong there either.
Simple question. Has anyone been able to connect to the ELearning labs and
successfully complete them without experiencing automatice reboots of their
XP SP2 machines? I kno it sounds like a stupid question... but I need to
know if I am chasing ghosts here on my end. If no one has been able to
sustain a session with the Elearning VM, then that would be useful
information.
Thus far troubleshooting this issue has consumed practiacally 12 hours of my
time...time I'd hoped to spend on preparing for certification.
THanks is advance for any assistance,
Paul
