I have a machine with 380 Meg free on C:

I try to apply XP SP1 to it, but it says I need 60 more Meg.

440 Meg for a service pack? Am I crazy or are they?

This is insane.

Anyway, having vented: does anyone have a suggestion for me here? This is a
2Gig partition
and I have removed EVERYTHING extraneous. The WINNT contains 1.4Gig of
stuff <sigh>.

I have used every utility known to man to clean it up.

440 Meg for a Service Pack?

Regards, all.

Greetings --

Windows XP requirements 1.5Gb of hard drive space just to install without
patches, programs, and service packs. To add to that you need space to
virtual memory, and many other things such as temp files. You can try
deleteing things and spending end-less hours trying to get it down to size,
or you can spend $35 and buy a 20GB hard drive.

Thirty-five bucks plus one day rebuilding the environment you mean <wink>

Thanks for the clarification, Chris.
