XP Sound scheme Problems

Hi All,

I'm having problems with my sound scheme, when I change the volume in
windows using the "volume control" the computer makes this horrible internal
beep, rather than playing the windows default "ding" beep, I've checked my
sound scheme and the "ding" is set as the windows default sound, so I have no
idea why it isn't being played when I change the volume. Help would be
greatly appreciated because this noise is really starting to S**T me.
