Identical ghost images...
3 different models...
1 of each model is going to sleep... screen turning black
until you move the mouse.whether logged in or not.
All power settings are correct- always on.
Hibernate OFF.
logon screensaver off in registry.
Etc.
Nothing has changed since I staged them.
These are locked down tight too!
No one could mess with them but me.
No rhyme or reason.
Anyone?

What do you mean by sleep, do you mean standby ?

Does the cpu and psu fan switch off awell, if so could be hibernate or
perhaps s3 standby(Suspend to RAM).

If the screen goes black but the fans stay working, may be s1 standby or
just the monitor going into powersave.

When xp goes into standby it uses whatever mode has been set in the bios,
either S1 or S3.
Some bioses also have S1 and S3 timer settings which can make the system go
into standby, independent of what you have set in xp, so have a look in the
bios probably under Power Management. May also be an S4 (hibernate) bios
setting.

If these systems have onboard video, there may be a power mangement bios
setting for that too.

Do the monitors have any kind of power saving features in their settings
menu, normally accessible through the buttons on the fron of the screen,
such as turn off after so many minutes if the screen image doesn't change ?

Are you using the windows xp plug and play or default monitor driver ?
Perhaps the monitor needs its own driver.
Are there any power save settings in the video adapter advanced properties,
or in the monitor manufacturers driver/application (if ou have one).

One other thing I happened to notice was that if you select the always on
power scheme , by default you get turn off monitor after 20 mins.
