xp shutdown

I have ran a restore, however cannot find or know to
install the patch, considering I cant keep my system up for
more that a few minutes?????????????
Can anyone help me!?

**** You need to make sure you have a FIREWALL enabled ****

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.
Click on the topic titled "Enable or Disable Internet Connection Firewall".

Can anyone help me!?

In XP, typing 'SHUTDOWN -A' in the command prompt will cancel the
Shutdown request.
