XP shows two processors

Hi all , just noticed that in 'device manager' under processors it shows two
entries but i only have one processor , not sure if it was like this before
the re-install of XP which i did to try and resolve an intermittent BSOD
problem , so should i worry about it ?.

New comps with P4's have one processoer, but show as two
because of Hyper Threading...The processor acts as two,
and shows as two...Found this out the hard way myself
running a P4 3.06...Hope this helps, please let me know
 
Hi Frank thanks for the reply , i have the same as you ,a P4 3.06 on an MSI
MB , i've seen hyperthreading mentioned but didn't know what it was.
It was only the fact that after doing a re-install of XP i noticed that the
display seemed sluggish so i was browsing through things and hadn't noticed
the double entry before
