Under Outlook2000, I would create a shortcut to a folder
where to files for the task were stored, and paste it
into the task. After upgrading to OutlookXP I find that
the .lnk type is blocked by OutlookXP and my shortcuts no
longer appear in the task.
Is there any way to place a link to a local flder in My
Documents into a task?
Thanks
Alan

You can unblock the lnk-files but that is not recommended. It's better to
cut and paste the addressbar. If you place file:/// in front of it you have
also created a link.
Example; file:///c:\test.txt

For unblocking information;

I just gave copying the a try, went to winexplorer and
copied the path statement of the folder I wnat to link to.
When I paste the path in the tasks window and
add "file:///" to the front of it, the link stops at the
first space encountered, i.e: My Documents, is there a
way around that. I would prefer not to unblock the lnk-
file type.

That is a problem indeed. Selecting text and Insert-> Hyperlink isn't
available either like in a mail.
I think you are left with unblocking the lnk-files and/or send a suggestion
to Microsoft by using the following link;

If you surround the link in angle brackets, it should work even if there are
spaces in the link. For example:

< file://\\server name\folder\file.exe >

But don't include the spaces between the brackets and the link text -- I
only did that so it wouldn't turn into a link in this message :-)
