I have a working Internet connection over ADSL on my home computer running
XP, and now I am trying to use a LAN connection to share Internet access over
to a laptop running Vista.

-I have set up connection sharing from XP. Internet connection shows as
Shared, and LAN connection has the correct IP of 192.168.0.1
-Vista computer physically connected. LAN connection finds Unknown Network
with following Internet connection not working. IP address doesn't seem to
get configured correctly. Diagnose, repair and manual IP addresses are no
help. Both computers are showing 0 received packages from the connection.
-Tried turning off firewalls on both computers. No help.
-Turned on all file sharing, network discovery etc.

To sum it up, nothing I could come up with doesn't help. The computers just
don't find each other. Any help on this?

If you assign static IP on he Vista, can you ping each other?

Make sure both comps have the same workgroup name; XP's is MSHOME and Vista'a
is WORKGROUP. change one or the other.
