Can anybody tell me when sp2 for Xp will be released.A
combined update pack will surely make my life easier,

For the uninitiated, "beta testing" is what MS does with
software to make sure that it's not working as intended.
MS won't release software unless they're positive that it
will create at least as many problems as it's intended to
solve.

No, nobody can tell you, because nobody knows.

No release date has been announced, and for good reason. SP2
recently began beta testing. When it will be released depends on
how many problems that testing finds, and how difficult they are
to fix. It's estimated that it will be released this summer, but
it's important to recognize that this is just an estimate, not a
promise.
