xp service pack 2

after installing sevice pack 2. my computer just keeps on
rebooting even when i try to get into safe mode it still
reboots over and over. windows xp logo comes up then
system reboots. anyone else have this problem or
possible solution?

I had the same problem - found this reply to be the most helpful

Firstly it may be wise to run chkdsk from the
command prompt using the XP CD. Choose 'R' at the 1st
prompt when booting from the CD. If this doesn't work I
would choose the repair option on the disk. Press 'enter'
at the 1st prompt then 'r' for repair. this will
reinstall XP without losing your data
