My question is how can restict access to users of XP home
edition? I have set them up as normal users and myself as
the administrator for the machine but they can still
download programs from the internet how can i prevent them
from doing this. Please help me becuase this is begining
to show to my boss the truth, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IM
DOING !!!

Hi Kristy,
While adding users to a computer as normal user does automatically take
some rights from the user it sounds like you want to be more restrictive
beyond that. What you will want to consider is using the "Group Policy" or
"Local Security Policy" tools to restrict the users rights and privileges
further. However, these tools should be used with caution as they are
rather powerful and it is possible to accidentally make the machine so
secure it is unusable. I would suggest reading up on these topics in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base or TechNet sections of the Microsoft website.
