XP Screen Saver: My Pictures

Has anyone seen where the home version of XP won't pull
pictures out of the \My Pictures subdirectories but the
XP Pro verison will? I can't find a article in the
knowledge base and am frustrated with a new PC when my
old XP Pro worked fine with this.

when i set the my picture slideshow screensaver and chose
a my pictures subdirectory. when screensaver kicks in
the pictures view on screen. pictures are .jpg/.bmp/.gif
downloaded from various websites. no nudes.
xp home sp1 weekly updates. no problems with scroll bar.
