I've used Symantec Ghost to image drives and now when I run Scandisk the
system restarts
and run's scandisk again and just loops. The drives I use are all new. Is
there a flag somewhere in the
registry i need to change?

Ok, so what should I use? Even if I use chkntfs or chkdsk with /f, it will
still cause the system into a restart loop. If the volume is dirty how else
am I supposed to repair it?

Use CHKDSK. Then look for a log file entry from it. In XP, open the
Control Panel, double click on "Adminstrative Tools", double click on
the "Event Viewer" icon, then click on "Application". In the "Source"
column, look for the "Winlogon" item. Double click it and you should
see the results of your Chkdsk.

Recurring disk problems are often a symptom of a physical problem with
the disk itself. Go to the hard drive manufacturer's web site and
download their free diagnostic utility. Run that to check out the
drive for defects.

Good luck
